Many foster children are forced to move during the middle of the night with just a minutes’ notice.
Many of these children have only a plastic grocery bag in which they store their belongings.
What We Do
Love Luggage collects monetary donations and donations of new luggage for foster children.
Each piece of luggage is then filled with a new set of socks and underwear, a stuffed animal or toy,
a Bible and a copy of the book
Maybe Days. Maybe Days is a book that explains many of the emotions that
accompany foster care. Once a month, the girls deliver luggage to Aiken County DCC, and Helping Hands.
They have also made several deliveries to Thornwell home for Children, located in Clinton, South Carolina.
Love luggage started in September of 2008 and has already helped almost every child entering the foster
care system in Aiken County. Love Luggage is not a solution for the struggles that foster children face,
yet it is a way to comfort these children and show them love.
You Can Help!
We accept new pilot sized luggage and monetary donations of any amount. Your support and help is
absolutely necessary to ensure that not one child goes without a piece of luggage, a small possession that will
make a huge difference to a child going through this kind of traumatic experience.
